Recent Rightmove analysis reveals that March is the strongest month of the year to sell a property, with the highest number of buyer enquiries per property for sale during every March over the last five years!

This means competition between buyers is at its strongest during March and leading into the rest of spring, providing an opportunity for many would-be sellers to have a good chance of selling their home.

The local property market is generally very active at the moment with more people than ever looking to move home.  Rightmove figures report that around three quarters of all properties are successfully finding a buyer, compared to a historical average of around half, and homes are finding buyers in an average of just 39 days, vs an average of 59 days over the previous five years.

Despite Covid-19, and the general uncertainty over the last two years, the property market has remained strong, with Rightmove reporting in their most recent House Price Index (February 2022) that in Wales the average price of property coming to market has increased by 12.2% year on year.  Over the last ten years, prices across Wales have on average risen by 51%, from £152,400 to £230,813.*

“We always see a rush of buyers entering the market in springtime” said Andrew Barry, Peter Alan Managing Director. “Not only are properties a lot more aesthetically pleasing in the better weather, but increased appetite to move during the spring period means sellers will have more prospective buyers competing to buy their home making it more likely you will achieve the best price.

“We’re advising home owners to get their property on the market now and take advantage of the current high demand for homes – sellers are in a strong position to achieve a good price and a quick sale.”
