Buying

Buying a home can be a daunting prospect, but with Peter Alan we aim to make it an enjoyable one.  We know you are searching for the right home and you may view properties with many different agents.  We hope we will be able to aid you in your search for the perfect home.
 

Numbers before houses

Make sure you know what you can afford before viewing houses. Not only will it put you in a strong position when making an offer, but it will also ensure you are viewing properties within budget. We have a mortgage team at Peter Alan who will be able to discuss this with you.
 

Don't believe what you see

We all begin our search by looking at images of properties whether it is online or in print.  Although it is a good starting point, you cannot truly view a property unless you are physically there.  We would advise you to view homes that meet your minimum criteria and not judge by image alone.
 

Don't rule out the unexpected

When finding a new home, don’t get too stuck in your criteria as you may miss an amazing unexpected property. Don’t be afraid to view something a bit different, you may find your dream home was not what you expected.


Honesty is the best policy

When viewing a home we can often be polite when giving feedback.  We want you to be honest.  Your honest opinion can help us find you a home quicker and provide powerful insight for the seller.


You've got to be serious

When making an offer you need to show the vendor that you are serious.  There is nothing wrong with putting in a lower asking price offer, if you have done your homework.


The waiting game

The buying process is a waiting game.  There are so many parties involved, vendors, solicitors and buyers from the top to bottom of the chain.  This is where it can become stressful; we aim to ease this by keep in regular contact with both you and your solicitor.
