About Porthcawl

Porthcawl is a seaside town in South Wales, located roughly half way between the cities of Swansea and Cardiff.

There are four Primary schools in Porthcawl, one Comprehensive and one Independent school.

Porthcawl is located within close proximity to Junction 37 of the M4 motorway.  There are regular bus services from Porthcawl with routes around the area, and also further afield to Cardiff via Bridgend and Cowbridge.  Further to this the local train station can be found in Pyle, which provides services to Bridgend, Cardiff and Swansea.

There are many beaches in Porthcawl, one of which at Rest Bay has Blue Flag status.  Further attractions in the local area include Kenfig Nature Reserve and Margam Country Park.  There are three golf courses locally, including the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club, which has hosted many prestigious golf tournaments, most recently the Senior Open Championship in 2014.
