Local estate agency Peter Alan is urging homeowners to start marketing their homes now if they want to be moved in by Christmas.  According to the agency, the months of September and October are an ideal time to sell your home.  With children back at school and the summer holidays over, buyers are returning to the market and looking to purchase before the end of the year.

“If you are looking to move, now really is a great time to put your property on the market,” says Andrew Barry, Peter Alan Managing Director.  “It is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year for us, as there is renewed interest in moving after the summer break and people looking to get settled into their new homes ready for Christmas.”

The company has already seen an uplift in properties coming to the market since the start of the month, and the agency always finds more would-be buyers registering an interest in purchasing at this time of year.  Indeed, demand is often such that the local branches need more properties in order to meet buyer interest through the autumn months.

Andrew continues, “Potential buyers turn their attention back to the market at this time of the year and in the run up to Christmas.  We would urge those interested in moving to make the most of the heightened autumn opportunities and a buoyant local housing market.”
