Property sales are increasing locally with strong buyer demandWe are living in ever-changing times with the current political uncertainty and speculation continuing, leading to numerous reports of consumer confidence being hindered and a subdued housing market. However, this does not seem to be the case in South Wales, with Peter Alan’s results so far this year being strong, a positive sign for the local property market.
In the first five months of 2019 Peter Alan sales were up 4% on the previous year, after a successful 2018, demonstrating that demand for quality homes still remains high in South Wales, great news for anyone looking to sell their property this year.
Andrew Barry, Peter Alan Managing Director, commented, “The local property market remains active for quality properties at the moment, with these homes selling quickly and achieving excellent prices, meaning now really is the time for any would-be sellers to take advantage of this buoyant market which is bucking the UK trend.
We have read various reports of a quieter housing market, but we do not seem to be seeing this trend locally, as our sales were up 6% in May, which is continuing to grow our market share.”
With people taking time off work, parents looking to move before the new school year and homes looking more appealing during the sunny months, summer is often a busy time for property searches.
It is, however, important for sellers to remember that it is vital that every property on the market is always priced realistically and accurately to attract buyers, whilst achieving as much as possible for the vendor, within a reasonable amount of time. Prospective sellers should always ensure to take advantage of local high street agents who have years of experience in their communities and therefore can give a detailed, accurate appraisal.
Andrew continued, “With Peter Alan our sellers can count on our knowledge of our areas, as all of our staff are trained, experienced and local, with a wealth of knowledge of the towns we are based in. We firmly believe the future of estate agency remains on the high street, and this coupled with our first class online proposition will ensure that our customers always receive the best of both worlds.
We head into the second half of 2019 with great momentum and have plans to continue to evolve and develop our services and network in order to meet the needs of our clients. We would urge those interested in moving to make the most of the buoyant local housing market and consider selling their home this summer.”
