One of Wales’ leading estate agencies has raised more than £10,000 for Cancer Research Wales after choosing them as their official charity partner for 2014.

Throughout the year, Peter Alan’s staff were encouraged to take part in a wide range of fundraising activities to support the work of Wales’ indigenous cancer charity.

Staff participated in various fundraising activities to reach the impressive total including the Cardiff Half Marathon, the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge , a charity auction and a Peter Alan’s Got Talent night.  Staff from the Newport branch of Peter Alan also helped to decorate their local Cancer Research Wales shop.

Cancer Research Wales representatives also visited Peter Alan branches around the country throughout the year to join in with bucket collections, , cake sales and other fundraising events.

All money raised through the partnership will stay in Wales to support the charity’s work such as the pioneering research projects being carried out by internationally renowned scientists and PhD students, and Wales’ only specialist cancer library.

Laura Priddle, Fundraising Manager for Cancer Research Wales, commented: “We are extremely grateful for Peter Alan’s support. We have really enjoyed working with their dedicated team who were committed to raising as much money as possible to help give brighter futures to those affected by cancer.

“It’s thanks to both our individual and corporate  supporters that we are able to fund the highest calibre of research which has the potential to benefit millions of lives worldwide, as well as those in our local communities.”

Andrew Barry, Managing Director of Peter Alan said: “I’m delighted that we have raised over £10,000 for Cancer Research Wales. This is a charity that is close to so many people’s hearts and I am thrilled we have been able to support this worthwhile cause throughout 2014”
