We are currently experiencing the strongest spring sellers' market in the past 10 years as the number of home hunters remains at record levels, due to the pent up lockdown demand and current government incentives, such as the extension to the Stamp Duty (Welsh Land Transaction Tax) holiday.

Despite continuing restrictions, Rightmove have reported that in Wales the average price of property coming to market has increased by 8% over the past year, currently the highest annual growth rate in the UK.

The property portal have also recorded 40% more visits to their website than in February 2020 and the number of potential buyers enquiring about each property is 34% higher than the same period a year ago, which was still an active market before the first lockdown.

Andrew Barry, Peter Alan Managing Director, commented, “The local property market is very active at the moment with more people than ever looking to move home.

For those considering selling, now is certainly the time to get your property on the market in order to make the most of the favorable conditions. We’re seeing the greatest excess of demand over supply over the past ten years, meaning sellers are in a, excellent position to achieve a good price and a quick sale.”
