Boxing Day 2024 marked a record-breaking surge for the property market as eager buyers and sellers flocked to property websites in unprecedented numbers.

Boxing Day has become one of the busiest days of the year for property websites, with platforms like Rightmove and Zoopla reporting a significant increase in traffic. The holiday season, which typically sees many individuals setting goals for their future, has turned into a prime time for property hunting. In 2024, this pattern reached new heights, as a combination of pent-up demand and the allure of fresh listings brought unprecedented numbers of users to online property portals.

For Rightmove, Boxing Day 2024 saw record levels of visitors, as traffic surged by 26% compared to the previous year. Zoopla, too, reported a substantial growth in searches and enquiries.

At Peter Alan it was our busiest Boxing Day Launch campaign yet with 855 new to market or reduced properties being made available on this day, an increase of 15% on last year.  Due to the success of launching on Boxing Day we have already agreed high levels of sales on these properties, giving our sellers and buyers a head start on securing their dream home this new year.
