Clive Lodge is a fine example of Victorian gothic architecture, inspired by William Burges' work on Cardiff Castle and Castell Coch. It was built in 1884 as the lodge house for Clive Hall by the wealthy Insole family, which later became the primary school attended by Roald Dahl. Clive Hall has since been replaced by a block of apartments but we managed to save and preserve Clive Lodge returning it to its former glory with a modern twist for you to enjoy.
Clive Lodge is close to Victoria Park, Thompson Park and Canton a bustling shopping area full of characterful restaurants and bars with lots of frequent buses to the city centre. Just turn right out of the drive, down towards the lights and turn left.
