Wales’ multi-award winning estate agent Peter Alan has announced that Teenage Cancer Trust Cymru is to become its official charity partner for the next 12 months.
Teenage Cancer Trust Cymru supports 13-24 year olds, and their families, who have had their lives shattered by a cancer diagnosis. They do it by providing world-class age appropriate care and support in their specialist unit in Cardiff. They are there at every stage, from diagnosis, during treatment and after treatment.
Andrew Barry, Managing Director of Peter Alan said: “I am delighted that Teenage Cancer Trust Cymru has been selected by our staff as our Charity of the Year for 2019.
The charity does fantastic work to support teenagers and young adults, and their families, but they are currently only reaching half the young people who need specialist care and support. We at Peter Alan want to help them change that. Our support will hopefully help to fund more specialist nurses to make sure no young person faces cancer alone.”
Debbie Jones, Teenage Cancer Trust Regional Fundraising Manager, South Wales, said: "At Teenage Cancer Trust Cymru, we’re delighted to have been chosen as a charity partner of Peter Alan Estate Agents for 2019. Our partnership will help us raise awareness of our vital services in Wales to make sure no young person faces cancer alone. The money raised by Peter Alan’s staff and customers could go towards funding our specialists nurses and youth support coordinators across the communities of Wales, so that young people with cancer have access to our life-changing care in their local hospital, at home or wherever they live."
Events already planned for the year include ‘Peter Alan’s Got Talent’, dress down days and bake sales. Staff will be encouraged to raise money themselves in branch and through company-wide events.
