The latest All Wales Auction which took place on the 16th February in Cardiff saw more than 83% of lots selling at the fall of the gavel; including several residential properties, a plot of land in Nantymoel, and a single garage in Cwmbran.

The auction was very well attended with people contending for the winning bid, resulting in most of the properties selling for well over their guide price.

Developed by estate agency Peter Alan in partnership with North Wales based estate agent Williams and Goodwin, All Wales Auction is designed to offer an alternative platform for buyers and sellers who may not want to go down the traditional selling route of private treaty. Auction is a fantastic option for those with unusual properties, those who may require a quick sale or those with properties that require complete renovation.

One of the most successful lots was a three bedroom mid-terrace property in Bargoed guided at £10,000 which needed complete renovation. This property raised great interest having been featured on the ITV news and on several national publication websites such as the Daily Mail and Mirror.  Bidding was fast and furious on the auction night resulting in the property selling for over £30,000, delighting the sellers.

Further successes during the auction were an end terrace property created from an amalgamation of 2 properties in Ebbw Vale which sold for a staggering 189% over the guide; and a detached property in Pontypool, which was very popular with bidders and eventually sold for £21,000 over the original guide price.

Diane Fairchild, Auction Manager, commented, “I am thrilled with the success of our February auction, it was very well attended with great prices being gained for the sellers.  With our combination of intense property marketing and our award winning, highly experienced auctioneer Melfyn Williams, we believe that the best possible price is always achieved.  We already have interest on the lots which are in our April auction and entries are currently being invited.”
